Dolphin Boy, by Yonatan Nir and Dani Menkin, will have a Theatrical Release in Australia during the months of August-September as part of the AICE Film Festival. The film will be screened at Cinema Palisades Theatres in Sidney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

 

Dolphin Boy tells the story of Morad - a young Arab-Israeli, who dissociated himself from reality due to a severe trauma. After he is taken by his father to be treated with dolphins in the Red Sea , his father bring him back to life  with the help of The ocean, the dolphins and his unconditional love for his son.

Dolphin Boy was chosen as the HOTDOCS Official Selection for 2011, received the Best Documentary award at The World Festival for Underwater Picture, 2011, Jury Special Mention in The Jerusalem International Film Festival 2011 and won the Audience Award at The Washington Jewish Film Festival, 2011. The film participated in numerous film festivals around the world.

Recently, Dolphin Boy had a theatrical release in The U.S.

Dani Menkin and Yonatan Nir participated in the Greenhouse 4th round supported by the EU in the framework of Euromed Audiovisual II.

The film is supported by The Second Israeli authority, ARTE, Channel 4 UK and the New Foundation for Cinema & TV, Israel and is distributed by First Hand Films.
