 Docaviv International Documentary Film Festival
Founded in 1998 and takes place every April, in the spring ('aviv' in Hebrew) in Tel Aviv.
Docaviv holds four prize-awarding competitions: An Israeli competition, an international competition, a student film competition and a youth competition. The winners are awarded prizes at a grand ceremony on the closing evening of the festival.
The Festival program comprises a wide range of events:
* Multidisciplinary discussions
* Master classes and workshops with the participation of international filmmakers
 * Special Screenings – A collection of Israeli and international documentary films that deal with current world affairs
 * Midnight screenings of alternative films, which deal primarily with music.

 Jerusalem Film Festival
Founded in 1984. The festival in a ten days long event, screening between 150-200 films in a number of programs:
 Panorama, showcasing international feature films; Documentary Films,
dedicated to international documentary film-making, The Jewish Experience, dealing
with issues of Jewish identity and history, In the Spirit of Freedom, concerned with
questions of freedom and human rights, Television Dramas, New Directors, and
Israeli Film. The festival awards 7 different prizes and awards, among them the Wolgin Award, ehich includes additional prizes, most of them commercial sponsorships.

 Sam Spiegel Film and Television School

Founded in 1998 by director/producer/screenwriter Renen Schorr. Represents Israel in more than 80 international film festivals each year, including Cannes, Berlin, Venice and New York.
Over the past decade, Sam Spiegel films have won more than 180 international awards. They have been screened on major television channels in Europe, Australia and the Far East and are broadcast annually on Israel television's Channel 2.

 The Department of Film and Television - Tel Aviv University
Founded in 1972, the department has 700 students enrolled in programs for BA, BFA and MFA.
Undergraduates begin their three years of studies with a year in general film and television studies. During their second year, students choose one of three study tracks:
 Production, Scriptwriting or Cinema Studies. The Department also runs a graduate program that awards MFA degrees in either production or in directing and scriptwriting.

The college offers major studies in Film, Television, Composition and Sound Design , Animation and a 5 semester training for practical engineering in film and TV.

 The Arab Cinema School - Nazareth

The Arab school of Cinema in Nazareth was recently opened. 
The initiative for this school was taken by the filmmaker Anan Barakat
and done with the participation of lecturers who are professionals in
cinema and also are qualified to teach cinema.

The curriculum is distinguishable from other universities in that it focuses
on Arab cinema (Northern Africa, the Middle East and the Gulf), and in that it
teaches cinema courses and media courses unique to our institute.

In addition, there are special workshops in the art of video, experimental cinema
and art improvisation as well as contributions by various local & international filmmakers
who will be invited to come to the school.

The school offers a 3 years course, at the end of which the student
will receive  a special graduation certificate, qualifying him as
a professional and specialist in cinema.  He can continue his studies from there
towards a B.A or B.E.D with the Open University.
