Greenhouse Second Seminar of the 2015-2016 Program, ended successfully in Essaouira, Morocco!
20 filmmakers from Algeria, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Palestine, Morocco, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey participated in the Second Seminar of the 2015-2016 Greenhouse Program, in Essaouira, Morocco.
Over the course of six days, the filmmakers worked with their mentors, Bruni Burres, John Appel, Hans Robert Eisenhauer and Nino Kirtadze, with whom they continued to analyze core issues regarding the dramaturgy, characters, film structure and cinematic language of their projects and refined their synopses, director statements and treatments. The filmmakers also worked on updated versions of their trailers, which they shared on the last day of the seminar.
The renowned Finnish filmmaker Pirjo Honkasalo held a master class, Honkasalo discussed issues of responsibility and ethics in the process of filmmaking in general and specifically in the case of her masterpiece "The Three Rooms of Melancholia".
At the end of the seminar the filmmakers received individual assignments, which they will have to complete within the next two and a half months, before the final seminar, scheduled for early June 2016, in Morocco. Over this period, the filmmakers will continue to receive feedback on their work in progress from their mentors and from the Greenhouse team.
